Description

For Disney’s groundbreaking Afrofuturist series Iwájú, Robeson Parks helped bring a historic creative vision to life, shifting the lens from Western imagination to a bold, African future.

We produced two cinematic featurettes that celebrated the significance of this project, elevated its creators, and helped audiences see the world through a new lens.

Insight

Iwájú wasn’t just a show. It was a seismic shift.

This was the first time Disney partnered with an external animation studio based in Africa, Kugali Media in Lagos, Nigeria, to tell a wholly original story rooted in African culture, mythology, and futurism.

To do it justice, the work couldn’t feel like a marketing play. It had to feel like home, crafted by people who knew the cultural codes, visual language, and historical weight behind the moment.

A Story From Africa

Idea

Tell the story behind the story.

We created two featurettes that did more than promote a series, they documented a cultural milestone. By blending interview-driven narratives with elevated editorial craft, we showcased the intentionality behind Iwájú: the symbolism in the tech, the meaning behind the name, the brilliance of Lagos, and the creative alchemy between Disney and Kugali.

Our editorial voice balanced reverence with innovation, helping global audiences understand why this series mattered, through the eyes of those who made it.

Impact

A spotlight with substance.

Our featurettes helped frame Iwájú not as an experiment, but as a triumph, a new chapter in global animation, written by African storytellers.

We positioned Robeson Parks as a cultural bridge: fluent in the nuances of diasporic storytelling, technically excellent, and deeply committed to honoring the roots while illuminating the future.

This was Afrofuturism at scale, and we helped the world see it clearly.
